The role

The Head of Finance will lead and build the finance function in the Philippines from the ground up. This role combines hands-on financial management with strategic business partnering. You will ensure compliance with local regulations and companys standards, implement finance systems, and support the Managing Director in business growth and decision-making.

Your Responsibilities

  • Build and Lead the Finance Team
  • Set up the finance organization, including staff, roles, processes, and tools.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop finance team members.
  • Create a culture of integrity, performance, and customer focus.
  • Establish clear governance, KPIs, and standard operating procedures.
  • Business Transition & Outsourced Operations
  • Manage the transition from outsourced finance to full ownership.
  • Coordinate handovers, align processes, and maintain business continuity.
  • Set performance standards, controls, and SLAs for external providers.
  • Systems & Technology
  • Lead the rollout and stabilization of accounting systems.
  • Ensure accurate data, effective processes, and proper training for users.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with Philippine laws, taxes, payroll, and company policies.
  • Identify and mitigate financial, operational, and system-related risks.
  • Maintain audit readiness and manage internal/external audits.
  • Accounting & Financial Reporting
  • Oversee accounting, billing, payroll, and reporting processes.
  • Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and management reports.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and financial accuracy.
  • Cash Flow, Credit & Working Capital
  • Manage cash flow, banking, credit control, and collections.
  • Monitor overdue accounts and optimize working capital.
  • Planning & Performance Management
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Track actual results against budgets and identify risks or corrective actions.
  • Support pricing and profitability analysis.
  • Business Partnering & Strategic Support
  • Provide financial insights and support to the Managing Director and leadership.
  • Guide investment decisions, cost analysis, and growth planning.
  • Translate financial data into actionable business insights.

What Were Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • CPA or other relevant professional certifications preferred.
  • 10–15 years of experience in finance, with proven experience in a management role leading finance teams.
  • Strong experience in finance, accounting, and compliance.
  • Knowledge of Philippine tax, payroll, VAT, and audit requirements.
  • Experience implementing ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics AX.
  • Skilled in building finance processes and internal controls.
  • Experience managing business transitions and vendor relationships.
  • Leadership skills: team building, coaching, and stakeholder management.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
