Position Title: Senior PHP Laravel Developer

Work Set Up: Work from Home

Schedule: 9:00 PM - 6:00 AM PHT

Job Location: Clark Outsourcing - Building 35 Philexcel Business Park, Clark Pampanga

Quick Rundown:

We are looking for a Senior PHP Laravel Developer who can work independently and has strong experience improving and maintaining an existing codebase—not just building new features from scratch. This role requires hands-on expertise in performance optimization, legacy system modernization, and clear communication with international teams.

What Youll Do:

Application Performance & Optimization

• Identify and resolve Laravel performance bottlenecks, including N+1 queries, inefficient joins, missing indexes, and slow API endpoints
• Optimize database queries, implement proper indexing, and apply caching strategies where appropriate
• Measure, validate, and document performance improvements before and after changes
  
  
  

Legacy Codebase Modernization

• Upgrade and refactor legacy PHP applications (PHP 5.6 / 7.x) to modern PHP versions
• Lead Laravel framework upgrades (e.g., Laravel 10/11), ensuring system stability and minimal downtime
• Improve code quality, maintainability, and reliability while reducing technical debt
  
  
  

Ownership & Collaboration

• Take end-to-end ownership of assigned features, fixes, and upgrades with minimal supervision
• Communicate clearly and proactively with US, EU, or AU-based stakeholders
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical improvements with business needs
  
  
  

What Were Looking For:

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in PHP and Laravel development
• Proven experience optimizing performance in production Laravel applications
• Experience upgrading and maintaining legacy PHP/Laravel systems
• Strong proficiency in PHP and Laravel frameworks
• Solid understanding of database optimization, indexing, and query performance
• Experience working with APIs and backend services
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks end-to-end
• Clear, professional communication skills
• Experience working with international teams in long-term roles
• Experience with Laravel 10/11
• Familiarity with caching tools such as Redis or Memcached
• Experience using profiling or monitoring tools for performance analysis
