Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Hygiene and Sanitation Manager. Reporting directly to the Director of Food & Beverage, you are responsible for maintaining the resorts standards for cleanliness and safety. This involves developing and implementing hygiene protocols, conducting regular inspections, and training colleagues in the best practices. You must stay updated on local regulations and international guidelines to ensure compliance. Additionally, you may be responsible for managing audits, addressing any hygiene-related issues, and fostering a culture of cleanliness throughout the resort to enhance guest and colleagues’ well-being.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive hygiene and sanitation policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with hygiene standards. Prepare detailed reports on hygiene practices and compliance for management review.
• Train and educate colleagues in proper hygiene practices and sanitation procedures.
• Oversee the cleanliness of guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, and other facilities including villas.
• Identify potential hygiene risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with external agencies and suppliers to ensure quality control and compliance with regulations.
• Ensure adherence to local health regulations and international hygiene standards.
• Investigate and resolve hygiene or sanitation-related issues or complaints promptly.
• Maintain thorough records and documentation related to hygiene and sanitation activities.
• Work with other departments to ensure cleanliness and safety throughout the resort.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, Environmental Science, Sanitary Engineering, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of hygiene and sanitation experience in a resort or luxury hotel, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in housekeeping management systems and Microsoft Office.
• Experience in eco-friendly or sustainable housekeeping practices.
• Familiarity with luxury service standards and guest expectations.
