Role

The Assistant Sports and Recreation Manager support the planning, coordination, and supervision of sports programs, recreational activities, facilities, and colleagues. This role helps ensure all activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational standards, enhancing member and guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, implementing, and evaluating sports and recreational programs.
• Ensure program schedules, instructors, and resources are properly arranged.
• Oversee daily operation of recreation facilities (courts, pools, boats etc.).
• Ensure equipment and boats are properly maintained, safe, and available for use.
• Assist in coordinating maintenance, repairs, and upgrades as needed.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and supervision of instructors, coaches, and recreation colleagues.
• Enforce safety protocols, facility rules, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and risk management standards.
• Assist with incident reporting and implementing corrective actions.
• Assist with budget preparation, inventory tracking, and financial documentation.
  
  

Qualifications

• Has over 5 years of progressive experience in Sports and Recreation operations in resort setting.
• Proven experience in management or supervisory role.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of sports rules, recreation programming, and facility safety standards.
• Basic budgeting and administrative skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
