The Compliance and Permits Officer ensures that the organization complies with regulatory requirements and manages the day-to-day permitting process. This role focuses on supporting the preparation, application, and tracking of permits, maintaining compliance records, and building relationships with regulatory agencies to minimize project delays and ensure operational continuity.
THE ROLE
Requirements
Regulatory Compliance
Stay updated with relevant laws, regulations, and standards that impact the organization or project.
Assist in understanding and interpreting compliance requirements in the industry.
Support the management in ensuring the organization adheres to the necessary regulatory standards.
Permitting
Assist in the timely preparation and submission of permit applications and approvals, supporting projects during the Pre-Development, Development, and Execution phases.
Maintain accurate documentation for project compliance, ensuring necessary permits are obtained on time.
Support tracking and follow-up on permit applications from regulatory agencies, including DENR, NCIP, MWSS, NWRB, DPWH, LGU, and other industry stakeholders.
Help maintain a database of all permits, licenses, approvals, and ensure timely updates.
Collaborate with internal teams to assist with understanding permit requirements.
Policy Support
Assist in the implementation of compliance policies and procedures.
Help prepare contract agreements and manage invoices/payments related to regulatory requirements.
Ensure proper documentation of compliance and permitting procedures.
Reporting and Documentation
Provide regular updates and reports on permit status to the Compliance and Permits Manager and other relevant personnel.
Maintain organized records of permits, licenses, approvals, and associated documents for regulatory audits.
Collaboration and Communications
Support liaison and coordination efforts with external agencies (DENR, NCIP, MWSS, NWRB, DPWH, LGU, etc.) and ensure efficient communication of compliance matters.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and consultants to ensure permit alignment with business goals.
PCO DUTIES (DAO 2014-02)
Assist in compliance with environmental laws such as PD 1586, RA 6969, RA 8749, RA 9003, RA 9275, and other regulations.
Help in the identification of environmental aspects and impacts of project activities, and contribute to mitigating measures for Environmental Management Plans.
Bachelor’s degree holder in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
