Our client is a leading global luxury resale platform and part of a major international fashion retail group. The company specializes in the sourcing, authentication, distribution, and resale of pre-owned luxury goods through a combination of marketplace, wholesale, and direct-to-consumer channels. Operating across multiple jurisdictions, they manage complex cross-border supply chains, inventory movements, marketplace transactions, intercompany trading arrangements, and international VAT and tax obligations. As the business continues to expand its global footprint and operating models, tax compliance, governance, and business partnering have become increasingly important to support sustainable growth.


About the Role

We are looking for a Tax Analyst dedicated to supporting the global tax and compliance activities. The role will focus on indirect tax compliance, tax governance, business partnering, cross-border transactions, operational tax support, and coordination of tax initiatives across multiple jurisdictions. The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Group Tax, Operations, Logistics, Legal, Treasury, Tech teams, and external advisors. This position will report into the Group Tax function while acting as a dedicated tax resource supporting business operations and strategic initiatives.


Work Setup: Remote (occasional on-site for team building or year-end events.)

Working Hours / Schedule: Flexible 9-hour shift; standard baseline is 9:00 am to 6:00 pm but subject to overlap requirements for meetings with Portugal (sometimes until 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm PHT).


What you’ll do

Indirect Tax Compliance

  • Support VAT compliance across multiple jurisdictions including:
  • EU VAT
  • OSS / IOSS
  • UK VAT
  • Netherlands VAT
  • Other international VAT registrations as required
  • Review and assess VAT treatment of:
  • B2B and B2C transactions
  • Marketplace transactions
  • Cross-border sales
  • Imports and exports
  • Intra-EU stock movements
  • Dropshipping and alternative fulfillment models
  • Coordinate with external advisors on VAT registrations, filings, and compliance requirements
  • Support tax authority audits, reviews, and information requests
  • Monitor VAT recovery opportunities and input VAT recoverability


Tax Governance & Compliance Management

  • Maintain and administer the tax governance tracker and compliance calendar
  • Monitor tax-related actions, dependencies, risks, and deadlines across multiple initiatives
  • Coordinate follow-ups with internal stakeholders, Group Tax teams, and external advisors
  • Support preparation of tax governance meetings, status updates, and management reporting
  • Assist in identifying tax risks and ensuring timely escalation where required


Business Partnering & Operational Tax Support

  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Logistics, Legal, Treasury, and Commercial teams to assess tax implications of business activities and proposed operating models
  • Support tax reviews of new business initiatives, market expansions, supply chain changes, and commercial arrangements
  • Assist in evaluating tax considerations relating to:
  • Marketplace structures
  • Fulfillment models
  • Cross-border inventory movements
  • Import and export transactions
  • Intercompany transactions
  • Permanent establishment risks
  • Provide practical tax guidance to business stakeholders and help translate technical tax concepts into operational recommendations


Tax Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare supporting schedules and reconciliations for tax compliance and audit purposes
  • Support transfer pricing documentation, intercompany analyses, and tax reporting requirements
  • Assist with statutory audits and tax authority reviews
  • Maintain tax documentation and supporting evidence required for compliance across multiple jurisdictions
  • Support selected direct tax activities including coordination of corporate income tax filings, transfer pricing documentation, tax audits, and tax authority information requests, in collaboration with the Group Direct Tax team.


Systems, Controls & Process Improvement

  • Support implementation and enhancement of tax-related controls and processes
  • Work with Finance Systems, ERP, and Tech teams to validate tax requirements and reporting outputs
  • Assist in implementing tax requirements within D365 and other operational systems
  • Help improve data quality, documentation standards, and tax compliance processes
  • Support automation and standardization initiatives across tax-related activities


What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Law, or a related discipline
  • 3 to 6 years of experience in tax, VAT, compliance, or international taxation
  • Experience gained within a multinational company, shared service center, international accounting firm, e-commerce platform, marketplace business, trading company, or similar international environment is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of VAT principles, indirect tax compliance, and cross-border transactions
  • Familiarity with international supply chains, import/export processes, customs concepts, and Incoterms
  • Ability to interpret tax regulations and communicate recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP or financial systems
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Experience supporting multi-jurisdiction tax compliance activities and coordinating external advisors across different countries is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to European VAT environments, marketplace business models, or international trade operations would be considered an advantage
  • Exposure to direct tax matters such as corporate income tax, transfer pricing, withholding tax, tax provisions, or tax audit processes would be considered an advantage.
