About The Client (AU)

A dynamic and growing company specializing in providing high-quality maintenance and fabrication solutions to the mining industry. We are based in Port Hedland assisting our Clients in maintaining fixed plant and corrosion remediation. The bulk of our work consists of providing Shift Coverage / Back Fill Labour, Shut Down Crews, Fabrication and Welding and Welding, Workshop, Marine and Site Based blast and paint and Machining. Our main Client base is Pilbara Ports Authority, Fortescue Metals Group, BHP and QUBE, along with some smaller local companies. With a workforce made up of Fitters, Boiler Maker Welders, Trade Assistants and Apprentices, and a Blast and Paint Team, currently we have 35 employees. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Draftsperson with a high proficiency in solidworks to join our team and contribute to our continued success.

About The Role

As a Draftsperson, you will play a vital role in supporting our design and fabrication processes. You will be responsible for creating detailed drawings, models, and documentation using SolidWorks, while also assisting with job quoting, and 3D scanning. This is an excellent opportunity for a keen learner to develop their skills and grow within a supportive and challenging environment.

Your Role Will Include

• Create and modify 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings using SolidWorks.
• Assist in the development of design concepts and solutions.
• Generate accurate and detailed technical drawings for fabrication and construction.
• Assist with the preparation of job quotes and material lists.
• Provide support to the superintendent.
• Process and integrate 3D scan data into SolidWorks models.
• Maintain organised project files and documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting processes.
• Assist Manager and Superintendent with other duties as required.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years experience designing in the Steel fabrication industry
• Experience working with AS1554 and a comprehensive knowledge of standard steel members such as PFC, Pipes, SHS, RHS etc. Also knowledge of fabrication and bolted connections
• High proficiency with SolidWorks.
• Proven experience and ability to site measure, concept and design fabricated components.
• Experience in producing full fabrication drawings including all required fabrication notes
• Able to provide a portfolio of previous designs/fabrication drawings
• Experience or willingness to learn 3D scanning and point cloud processing.
• Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
• Clear and fluent English communication skills
  
  

Work Schedule (Dayshift)

• Monday to Friday (9AM-6PM; Manila Time)
  
  

Work Setup (WFH)

• Permanent Homebased
• Candidates are expected to have a conducive (quiet, distraction-free) dedicated workspace
• Equipment will be provided by the company
• Hired staff is required to have a stable and reliable internet connection with at least 20MBPS for both download AND upload speed.
