Responsibilities

• Own our Design System: Expand our Storybook component library, ensure visual consistency, and publish versioned packages that enable us to rapidly build highly performant web pages.
• Architect for Scale: Lead React + TypeScript patterns for complex, data-rich workflows; author ADRs and sequence diagrams that keep the team aligned.
• Supercharge Dev Experience: Automate visual regression testing (Chromatic), fortify Cypress suites, and continuously champion CI/CD health and efficiency.
• Level up the Team: Pair-program, advocate best practices, and mentor peers — your experience will directly influence team growth and your own progression.
• Shape the Product: Deeply understand customer needs, negotiate scope thoughtfully, and ship impactful features through close collaboration with Product and Design.
• Stay AI-First: Accelerate development flow with modern AI tools like Cursor, Windsurf, and CodeRabbit — without compromising readability or quality.
  
  

• Craft complex applications: You build sophisticated, state-driven apps leveraging modern React patterns and TypeScript best practices.
• Lead design-system excellence: You significantly contribute to design systems (Storybook, Figma), implement robust testing (Cypress, Vitest), and maintain consistent theming strategies.
• Optimize performance: You proactively improve front-end performance, focusing on Core Web Vitals, code-splitting, lazy loading, and profiling with Lighthouse/CDP.
• Modernize tooling: You leverage tools like Vite, ESLint/Prettier, and GitHub Actions to streamline development workflows ensuring speed and reliability.
• Have strong engineering fundamentals: You understand core computer science concepts — data structures, algorithms, software architecture, and design patterns — and apply them pragmatically.
• Communicate clearly: You articulate technical decisions effectively through design docs, sequence diagrams, and provide thoughtful, actionable feedback during code reviews or feedback sessions.
• Build across the stack: You develop backend services or APIs using Python and FastAPI to connect frontend functionality seamlessly to data-driven backends.
• Design effective data models: You know PostgreSQL schema design, SQL-based ORMs (e.g., SQLAlchemy, SQLModel), and efficient data pipeline integrations.
• Operate in the Cloud: You confidently deploy and manage web applications using cloud infrastructure — particularly on Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL) — and understand the nuances of cloud-native development.
• Secure your solutions: You have hands-on experience with modern authentication and authorization systems (Auth0, Okta) and understand secure identity management best practices.
• Bridge AI and engineering: You integrate or develop machine learning workflows in production-grade applications, especially with scalable data systems or AI-driven features.
