About The Role

We are seeking an Architect with 5+ years of post-graduate experience in ArchiCAD modelling to work on highly detailed design lead projects. The candidate needs to have extensive experience and proven capacity in 3d modelling with ArchiCAD with a minimum of 5 years experience in detailed 3d modelling and documentation in the software.

Our preference is for an architect with 5 years of experience in an outsourcing context, capable of bridging the gap between high-level design and technical execution through detailed documentation experience.

This role requires a professional who can work independently during Australian business hours to support our local project and has an eye and focus on detailed design.

Key Responsibilities (Base Skills)

• Base Modelling, produce high quality 3D ArchiCAD models which are modelled with a high degree of accuracy, and suitability for producing automated 2D documentation
• Documentation & Drafting: Produce comprehensive drawing sets, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed construction nodes using ArchiCAD.
• 3D Coordination: Maintain and update 3D models, performing clash detection and coordinating with structural and MEP consultants to resolve design conflicts.
• Permit Packages: Prepare documentation for Development Applications (DA), Complying Development Certificates (CDC)
• Production Management: Oversee the technical production of Archi CAD documentation, ensuring 100% accuracy and adherence to project standards.
• Project Communication: Participate in daily stand-ups via Zoom or Teams to review mark-ups and project milestones with the Melbourne-based team.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous reviews of drawings, permit applications, and construction sets
• Project Delivery: Manage project milestones from schematic design through to construction documentation, facilitating smooth transitions between design phases.
  
  

Key Responsibilities (Design Value Added Skills)

• Bespoke Joinery Details: Develop highly detailed construction drawings for custom kitchens, walk-in robes, wine cellars, and integrated cabinetry.
• Material Integration: Coordinate the set-out of premium finishes (e.g., large-format stone slabs, timber parquetry, custom metalwork) to ensure perfect alignment and minimal waste.
• External Envelopes: Assist in documenting complex cladding systems, high-performance glazing, and seamless indoor-outdoor transitions (flush thresholds).
• Reflected Ceiling Plans (RCP): Intricately coordinate lighting layouts, HVAC linear slots, and automated blind recesses to maintain a "clean" ceiling aesthetic.
  
  

Requirements & Skills

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in architecture, specifically in multi-residential, commercial, or luxury hospitality projects.
• Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture from a recognised institution.
• Software Mastery: Expert proficiency in ArchiCAD is mandatory.
• Management Ability: Proven track record in managing junior staff or outsourced resources, with strong skills in workflow delegation and schedule tracking.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively manage remote, multicultural teams.
• Aesthetic Eye: An obsession with "line weights" and drawing presentation. High-end firms expect drawings to look as beautiful as the buildings.
• Coordination: Experience managing "invisible" services—concealing AC ducts, speakers, and smart-home tech within the architectural fabric
  
  

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelors degree in Architecture; PRC licensure in the Philippines is highly regarded.
• Australian Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience working on Australian projects, with a strong understanding of AS 1100 (Architectural Drawing) and AS 1428 (Design for Access and Mobility).
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in ArchiCAD, and experience with cloud-based collaboration.
• Communication: Exceptional English proficiency, both written and verbal, to ensure clarity in technical annotations and team meetings.
