We are an apartment rental brokerage firm looking for a Lease Specialist with NYC rental experience, particularly with government-subsidized housing programs such as CityFHEPS and NYCHA. The ideal candidate will be experienced in preparing and managing leasing packages, completing required paperwork, submitting renter information to the appropriate city agencies, and making sure every lease file is complete and up to date.
Experience with NYC rental assistance programs such as CityFHEPS and NYCHA is strongly preferred.

Prepare, organize, and submit leasing packages for rental applicants.
Complete and review required rental and government program paperwork.
Submit renter and property information to NYC agencies and relevant programs.

Keep track of application and leasing package status from submission through approval.
Maintain accurate records and spreadsheets of renters, properties, documents, and application status.
Communicate with renters, landlords, brokers, housing specialists, and government agencies as needed.
Stay on top of deadlines, pending documents, approvals, and follow-ups.
Perform general administrative and data-entry tasks related to leasing.
CityFHEPS leasing involves multiple documents and steps, including landlord information, proof of ownership, leases, W-9s, security vouchers, and other package requirements, so strong attention to detail is essential.

Good written and verbal English communication skills.
Comfortable communicating with renters, landlords, brokers, and government agencies.
Able to work independently and stay on top of pending requirements and deadlines.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who has already worked in NYC real estate, apartment rentals, leasing, or housing assistance, and understands how programs such as CityFHEPS and NYCHA work.
