Your Role

As a Tier 2 NOC Engineer, you will:

• Proactively monitor customer infrastructure including servers, firewalls, and network devices using NOC tools and dashboards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 2 incidents involving network connectivity, firewall alerts, routing issues, VPN failures, and server-related outages.
• Perform system maintenance, patching, updates, and routine health checks to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
• Respond to alerts within defined SLAs and maintain accurate, detailed documentation in the ticketing system.
• Escalate complex incidents to Tier 3 engineers or on-call resources as required, ensuring proper handoff and context.
  
  

What You Need

Non-negotiables

• At least 3 years of experience in NOC, network operations, or MSP support environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with firewalls (Fortinet, Cisco, Sophos, Palo Alto or similar).
• Solid understanding of network infrastructure (switching, routing, VLANs, VPNs).
• Experience supporting Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, file and print services).
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues independently.
  
  

Preferred Skills/expertise

• Prior experience in an MSP environment supporting multiple client infrastructures.
• Familiarity with monitoring and RMM platforms such as ConnectWise, Auvik, Huntress, or similar tools.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Knowledge of backup technologies such as Veeam, Acronis, or Datto.
• Relevant certifications such as Network+, Security+, CCNA, Fortinet NSE, or MCSA.
