Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

Mechanical Design Engineer to support our bi-fold door hardware product development team. The ideal candidate will contribute to improving existing designs, creating new concepts, and producing accurate technical documentation using Autodesk tools. This role is focused on precision components within the fenestration (window and door) industry, which demands close attention to tolerance, fit, and mechanical integration.

Technical Skills

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 2-5 years professional design engineering experience
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor
• Strong 3D modeling and technical drawing skills
• Proven ability to create exportable, manufacturing-ready technical drawings and documentation
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, die casting, and injection molding
• Ability to apply tolerance stack-ups and resolve fitment challenges
• Ability to create detailed technical documentation
• Intermediate to advanced English communication skills
• Familiarity with product design lifecycle and design for manufacture (DFM)
• Understanding of material selection for hardware components
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a detail-oriented approach
  
  

• Exposure to the fenestration industry (doors, windows, systems) would be a distinct advantage
• Experience with bi-fold door hardware or similar architectural components
• Familiarity with die casting, extrusion, or plastic injection molding
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) capabilities
• Knowledge of international manufacturing standards and quality practices
• Experience with prototype development and product testing methods
