About The Client (US)

Provides residential building design services to individual homeowners, investors, general contractors and real estate professionals. We work exclusively on projects in California, helping our clients maximize land value by adding new dwellings on lots with existing homes, converting existing structures into new units, and creating new subdivisions. Our team focuses on providing expert feasibility, design & permit drafting services, focusing mainly on small projects (we work on single-family buildings and small multi-unit buildings).

About The Role (Junior Level)

Looking for a drafter with 2-3 years of experience to support our growing project pipeline, and support the growth of our small business with plenty of opportunity and upside! In this role, you would assist the companys lead architect and permitting team in drafting permit sets following company templates, working in Revit to complete plans, schedules and details for the timely completion of permit drawing sets. You would touch every phase of our projects, from contributing to feasibility studies, creating construction sets & updating drawings in responses to comments from cities and our consultants during the permitting phase.

Skills & Qualifications

• A degree in architecture, engineering or related certification in construction science.
• Minimum 2-3 years of drafting experience within an architecture or engineering context.
• Experience working on residential projects, familiarity with concepts for domestic design, rules of thumb and best practices for designing residential units in the range of 500 to 2,000 square feet. (Experience does not need to be within the United States)
• Expert knowledge of working with Revit in a professional capacity (academic experience cannot be substituted for professional experience).
• Experience working with AutoCad.
• Experience creating Revit Templates & Revit Families.
• Perfect fluency in English, written and spoken.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. With our projects, scopes of work are small and we all work on many projects at once. Expect working on multiple tasks on 2-3 projects in any given week, rather than following a single project for months.
  
  

Nice to have

• Experience with any of the following: Sketchup, Rhino, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Bluebeam, BIM 360.
• Experience with the International Building Code (IBC), California Building Code, California Residential Code, Americans with Disabilities ACT
• Experience with creating assembly details (walls, floors, roofs etc)
• An interest in building processes and standards at scale. We prioritize innovation, and value building practices that reduce repeat work, and keep our team nimble.
  
  

Work Schedule (Nightshift)

• Tuesday to Saturday (1AM-10AM; Manila Time)
  
  

Work Setup (WFH)

• Permanent Homebased
• Equipment will be provided by the company
• Hired staff is required to have a stable and reliable internet connection with at least 20MBPS for both download AND upload speed.
