The Role

The Software Programmers duties will include managing systems performance, reviewing and updating existing programs, identifying and fixing defects, supporting data architecture, generating reports, developing in-house software, and mitigating potential risk. Your expertise in the craft of programming will assist our organization in increasing efficiency and service through the construction, maintenance, and streamlining of our computing systems and programs. This individual will need to interact with management and occasionally users. This individual will need to receive direction from management well, and be a strong implementer of ideas and solutions. This person is a problem solver with the resources provided.

Essential Functions

• Researching, designing, implementing, and managing software programs
• Testing and evaluating new programs
• Identifying areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently developing these modifications
• Writing and implementing efficient code
• Determining operational practicality
• Developing quality assurance procedures
• Deploying software tools, processes, and metrics
• Maintaining and upgrading existing systems
• Training users
• Working closely with the project lead, business and systems analysts
• Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
• Provide timely status reports of features and bug fixes in progress
• Write coherent and understandable issue reports
• Close outstanding issue reports and tickets in a timely manner
• Provide detailed end-user documentation
