About the Client

Our client is a preowned luxury fashion tech company, that enables brands and retailers to buy & sell used goods through innovation and technology. They have developed a unique Resale as a Service solution utilized by the world’s largest retailers, and are also a global distributor (B2B player) of pre-owned luxury fashion for businesses. They currently have offices and warehouses in Portugal, Estonia, US, China, Japan, and the Philippines. They foster curiosity, by continuously providing our team members with avenues to explore, experiment, innovate and disrupt the current luxury resale model in a nutshell, that is our essence.

About the Role

Reporting to the Buyer position, the Junior Assistant Buyer will play a key role in curating and sourcing luxury pre-owned items aligned with our procurement strategy. With a brand-focused and analytical mindset, you will ensure buying decisions are driven by market trends, inventory needs, and buylist recommendations, while managing budget allocations to maximize sales potential and profitability.

You’ll be working within the Merchandise team, responsible for the intake of all new merchandise into the company. The buying and merchandising decisions have a significant company-wide impact and are fundamental to the company’s success. Operating across global markets, the team is composed of Filipino, Chinese, Japanese, and Portuguese members and works closely with the Japanese and Chinese markets.

Work hours: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm or 10:00 am to 7:00 pm Philippine Time with flexibility required to attend early morning or late night calls depending on the need

What you’ll do

• Select products from B2B and B2C suppliers, ensuring alignment with buying guidelines, sales demand, pricing competitiveness, and margin targets.
• Set the base selling price for selected items while ensuring all relevant product attributes are accurately provided.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiating costs to secure optimal commercial conditions while meeting quality and operational standards.
• Analyze supplier performance and stock movement, proactively identifying risks and opportunities to improve efficiency and results.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to streamline processes and continuously improve ways of working.

What You Bring

• Up to 2 years of experience in buying, merchandising, or procurement within fashion or retail, ideally with exposure to luxury goods or accessories.
• Strong knowledge of luxury brands, market trends, and the second-hand ecosystem, with a genuine interest in fashion and sustainability.
• Highly analytical and data-driven, using insights to support sound buying decisions.
• Confident negotiator with experience managing and developing supplier relationships.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with changing priorities.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Degree in Fashion, Business, Marketing, or a related field. Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
