We are looking for a detail-oriented Bid Specialist / Construction Estimator to join our growing team. In this role, you will support our inside sales team by managing incoming bid opportunities, reviewing construction drawings and specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, and coordinating bid submissions for public and private construction projects.

You will own the estimating process from bid intake through quote submission, ensuring timely, accurate, and competitive proposals. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, construction plan-reading experience, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Bid & Estimate Preparation

  • Review incoming bid requests from the sales inbox and internal estimating team.
  • Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents to identify opportunities where the company's products can be quoted, even when they are not explicitly specified.
  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and quotations using the company's ERP system (Infor Syteline).
  • Submit completed quotations to the internal sales team for review or directly to customers and bid portals, following established workflows.
  • Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within required deadlines.

Bid Opportunity Management

  • Use ConstructConnect as the primary platform to:
    • Search for new bid opportunities.
    • Prioritize projects where the company's products are specified as the basis of design.
    • Identify additional opportunities where alternative products may be proposed.
  • Navigate additional bid platforms, including:
    • ConstructConnect
    • iSqFt / BuildingConnected
    • Dodge Construction Network
    • SAM.gov
    • University, healthcare, government, and other owner-specific procurement portals
  • Monitor bid updates, addenda, bidder lists, and project changes to ensure all relevant bidders receive company quotations.
CRM & Workflow Management

  • Manage a personal pipeline of bid opportunities using HubSpot or a similar CRM.
  • Track each project from initial inquiry through final quote submission.
  • Maintain accurate records, notes, follow-ups, and bid statuses to ensure visibility for internal stakeholders.
  • Prioritize multiple bids simultaneously while consistently meeting submission deadlines.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Coordinate with internal estimating, business development, and sales teams to resolve questions related to project scope, specifications, pricing, or documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with vendors, general contractors, architects, and project owners primarily through email.
  • Support phone communication when necessary, depending on project requirements and communication needs.

Qualifications

  • Atleast 2+ years of experience in construction estimating, bid coordination, or a closely related role.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid packages.
  • Experience working with bid portals (e.g., ConstructConnect, iSqFt/Suite, Dodge, sam.gov, or similar).
  • Strong skills in managing multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working in ERP and CRM systems (experience with Infor Syteline and HubSpot is a plus).
  • Strong written English and ability to communicate professionally via email.
  • Experience with fall protection, stair & platform systems, metal fabrication, or similar industrial/construction products (nice to have, not mandatory). (Nice to have)
  • Prior experience supporting North American or similar markets. (Nice to have)
