As an Engine Room Operator, you will be responsible for the seamless operation and maintenance of diesel engines and auxiliary machinery. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the successful candidate will ensure all equipment functions within standard operating parameters while leveraging data-driven insights to optimize performance.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Prepare and check all engines and auxiliary equipment for start-up procedures and execute shutdown procedures as instructed by the Control Room Engineer.
- Monitor running engines by conducting routine inspections to identify leaks, excessive vibration, or other abnormalities, and perform adjustments, minor corrections, and top-ups according to equipment manuals.
- Conduct or coordinate testing for the physical and chemical properties of the plant’s fuel, lube oil, process water, and sludge, encode the results, and monitor deviations for corrective actions.
- Ensure the proper implementation of Permit To Work (PTW) policies, stop engines when needed for safety purposes, and perform fire-fighting and other duties defined in the Emergency Response Plan.
- Perform thorough turnover activities at the end of the shift to the incoming Control Room Engineer, reporting on engine performance, abnormalities, and special instructions.
- Utilize data analytics tools to track engine performance metrics, identify trends, and predict maintenance needs.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues using a combination of traditional engineering expertise and modern diagnostic software.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Demonstrates exposure to data analytics or performance monitoring software.
- Strong technical aptitude and a "tech-savvy" approach to hardware-software integration.
