The Operations Manager is responsible for delivering power to the grid in accordance with requirements from the NGCP, the grid code, and/or the O&M contract . This involves ensuring that all facility equipment is operated efficiently, economically, and safely, as directed by the Operations Division Head, and in strict compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be
Coordinating with Team Leaders to implement approved projects and schedule plant-wide operations to increase plant productivity .
Ensuring all machines and equipment run properly to meet load nomination requirements by holding daily meetings with Maintenance to set priority jobs for preventive and corrective maintenance .
Maintaining high operational standards for equipment performance and safety through routine physical inspections, checking logbooks, and monitoring the condition of equipment .
Coordinating closely with Maintenance by preparing a daily list of jobs or Internal Damage Reports (IDR), approving Work Orders, and recommending shutdown schedules to limit unscheduled and forced outages .
Ensuring complete manning for operations by administering team leaves, assigning relievers, and preparing daily work schedules .
Optimizing steam generation, monitoring diesel oil consumption, and evaluating monthly engine performance parameters to recommend adjustments .
Ensuring the quality of boiler water and engine cooling water remain within specifications for safe and economical operation .
Managing the efficient operation of Separators and ensuring the availability of fresh water .
Ensuring boilers are properly cleaned during shutdown and that Lube Oil transfers are conducted according to regulations .
Preparing Weekly and Monthly Operations Reports, as well as monthly power billings to the NGCP .
Ensuring proper waste oil disposal in accordance with DENR policies and securing the necessary waste disposal permits .
Preparing annual applications for the renewal of permits to operate for both DOLE and EMB-DENR .
Planning, directing, and implementing emergency response drills, including fire, oil spill, flood, and evacuation drills .
Supervising safety inspections, conducting regular safety audits of worksites and equipment, reporting findings, and recommending changes to establish safe work conditions .
Ensuring the periodic testing of fire pumps and the CO2 fire fighting system .
Assisting in staff development by identifying training needs and implementing individual development plans in coordination with HR
Education & Experience
Candidate must be a registered engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) with a professional certification .
More than 5 years of professional experience in engine operation, preferably within the power generation industry .
5 years of leadership experience .
Technical / Functional Skills
