    VIBE (Casey Works Centre) is home to the Open Space & City Greening business unit and offers modern, smart, and functional workspaces which support the service and operational needs of the Infrastructure & Open Space Department.


    About the Role


    As Coordinator Sportsgrounds, you’ll play a pivotal leadership role in ensuring the delivery, renewal and enhancement of Casey’s sportsgrounds, recreation reserves and active open space infrastructure.


    You will lead and oversee maintenance programs, capital works and contracts to ensure high‑quality, safe and sustainable playing surfaces across either the North or South of the municipality. Working closely with internal teams, contractors and stakeholders, you’ll ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to industry best practice supporting vibrant, inclusive and safe recreation opportunities for the community.

    This role combines strategic oversight, operational delivery and people leadership, contributing to long‑term asset planning while maintaining a strong customer and community focus.


    What You’ll deliver


    • Lead the maintenance, renewal and development of sportsgrounds, recreation reserves and active open space infrastructure.
    • Oversee contracts, contractors and staff, monitoring performance, expenditure and outcomes using corporate systems.
    • Develop, review and implement maintenance specifications, processes and systems for sports fields and capital works.
    • Deliver capital works and renewal projects on time, on budget and to agreed standards
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support effective project delivery.
    • Contribute to strategic plans, masterplans, operational plans and asset renewal programs.
    • Ensure compliance with OHS, risk management and legislative requirements, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement
    • Respond positively and professionally to customer, stakeholder and community enquiries.


    What You’ll Bring


    • Diploma of Turf Management (AQF Level 5) or similar qualification (desirable)
    • Demonstrated experience and strong understanding of contemporary turf management practices
    • Proven experience delivering capital works and renewal projects within an active open space or sportsground environment
    • Ability to lead people, manage contractors and oversee complex operational programs
    • Strong organisational, budgeting and project management capability
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

    • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check and Medical Functional Test.
