Job Description

Grace is seeking a Tax Analyst to join our GBS Tax team! This role reports to Finance Manager, Tax located in Manila.

The Tax Analyst is responsible for supporting the tax planning, reporting and compliance operations as well as internal control activities performed in GBS Manila are delivered based on identified metrics. Responsible for the preparation of tax workpapers and reporting activities which support the overall tax compliance and reporting obligations. This position is expected to be a strong partner with the global corporate tax, and external auditors to support the business needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare supporting workbooks and reconciliation associated with Grace’s indirect tax compliance (Canada Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) and EMEA region Value Added Tax (VAT) and Property Tax compliance) process
• Provide support to inquiries related to EMEA VAT transactions
• Run SAP detail reports to support income tax and indirect tax compliance processes
• Provide timely and accurate reconciliation and support for Indirect Tax Accounts - monitor account activity, record tax-related journal entries, maintain supporting documentation, and update roll forward schedules
• Lead the annual W8/W9 and US Tax Certification process
• Responsible for gathering the annual data for the property tax compliance process
• Maintain and oversee the property tax payment tracker and ensure timely submission of payment requests
• Prepare monthly cash tax forecast for NA property tax.
• Assist with providing documentation support related to tax examinations
• Manage stakeholders and provide permanent solutions for all issue escalations
• Manage or participate on special projects as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/College Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 4-6 years’ experience in a corporate tax department in a global shared service setup
• Working knowledge of tax accounting, specifically Indirect Tax (Canada GST, HST and QST and EMEA Value Added Tax)
• Must possess strong analytical skills, be highly organized, detail oriented, and able to balance multiple projects.
• Possess the ability to work independently and exercise own judgment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.
• Must be able to challenge process deficiencies and recommend improvements.
• Strong skills in SAP, and account reconciliation platforms and other accounting systems
• Knowledge on SAP or any ERP system
• Knowledge on Vertex or any indirect tax tools
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Dynamic, flexible, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to engage and work with individuals at all levels within the company.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in improving tax processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Knowledge in advanced Excel formulas or functions and macros to streamline tax calculations and reporting processes.
