This position assists and supports others in a department, subdivision, function or project. The position relies primarily on established policies, procedures, and applicable work practices to make decisions as they apply to the job duties and responsibilities.
Operating under detailed instructions and review, the purpose of this position is to provide the essential technical knowledge and perform the work listed. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluors competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. The purpose of this position is to work on design and perform 3D layout of limited scope to support the Design Area Lead or Lead.
Develop and review project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline documents for all phases of projects
Develop estimates, schedules, progress reports, and key quantities tracking reports
Incorporate health, safety, and environmental factors in design
Apply project standards to design drawings
Deliver quality work, and adhere to the Operating System Requirements (OSR)
Execute project work in accordance with approved Activity Plans
Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
Provide close interface with other discipline functions
Engage Fluor’s global community, promoting a OneFluor mindset
Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures
Participate in and promote the use of Fluor’s knowledge management portals and communities
Support Functional Process Lead and Department Manager on initiatives
Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards
Plan, organize, and carry out assignments as directed
Adhere to and support Fluor’s Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job
May need to travel to attend to business related matters
Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
Other duties as assigned
Basic Job Requirements
A combination of education and directly related experience equal to three (3) years*; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials
Practical field experience
Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs

Basic knowledge of Hexagon Smart® Review
Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation program
Control Systems
Acquire basic knowledge of 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems and procedures
Use the Hexagon Smart® Instrumentation database to load intermediate complexity instrument indexes and wiring information and generate reports and loops
Prepare and update intermediate complexity 2D CAD control systems drawings
Generate basic complexity isometric and general arrangement drawings from 3D model
Advanced knowledge of 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems and procedures
Intermediate knowledge of 3D CAD systems (Hexagon Smart® 3D, etc.) and procedures
Basic knowledge of: o Piping design drawings o Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) representation, legends and symbols o Fluor design guides and piping technical practices o 3D modeling software Hexagon Smart® 3D, etc.
