Site Surveyor

Responsibilities

• Measure distances, elevations, boundaries, and topographical features
• Gather accurate field data before, during, and after construction.
• Transfer design coordinates and dimensions from plans to the actual site.
• Mark locations for foundations, roads, columns, utilities, and other structures.
• Use total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, digital levels, laser scanners, drones, and other surveying instruments.
• Ensure equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
• Check that structures are built within specified tolerances.
• Perform as-built surveys to compare completed work with design drawings.
• Process survey data using CAD and surveying software.
• Produce maps, plans, coordinates, and progress reports.
• Keep accurate field notes, measurements, control points, and survey documentation.
• Organize data for future reference and project audits.
• Work closely with engineers, architects, project managers, and contractors.
• Clarify survey requirements and resolve discrepancies.
• Perform regular surveys during construction to ensure alignment and levels remain accurate.
• Identify deviations and recommend corrective actions.
• Follow project specifications, local regulations, and surveying standards.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures while working on site.
