Draftsperson Contract

Contract Position approx 12 months

POSITION: Draftsperson REPORTS TO: Director, Projects

We are looking for a Draftsperson Level 1 to join our Projects team! Our Project Draftsperson is primarily responsible for preparing drawings of existing facilities, renovations and new construction.

OPPORTUNITIES

In this role, you will have the opportunity to prepare drawings of existing facilities, renovations and new construction of moderate complexity based on verbal instructions, sketches and/or formal documents. You will also act as part of the project development team, collaborating with the Projects, and Operations team.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• You have proficiency in AutoCAD, Solidworks, MS Office and similar programs
• You have 1-3 years of drafting experience
• You are highly skilled in collecting field data and accurately recording findings
• You have the ability to produce "rough sketches" to help with concept development
  

NICE-TO-HAVE

• Experience and/or education in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma
• Experience working in a complex food manufacturing environment
  

THINGS YOU WILL DO...

• Layout marking of locations for equipment and placement
• Prepare multiple layouts that show the details for variety of machinery and mechanical tools/equipment
• Produce as built drawings/layouts of equipment/production lines and building/building details
• Draw structural features and details for buildings and other structural projects
• Verify drawings are correct to specifications, code and other regulations
• Support other draftsperson and projects team as required
• Other duties as assigned
  

OTHER ...

• Available to work flexible shifts, holidays, weekends, and be on-call
• May on occasion work at various times including weekends, as the job requires

Salary - $55,900 - $67,100
