About This Role
The Senior Community Mobilizer acts as the frontline facilitator and advocate at the municipal and barangay levels. They are responsible for building community capacity and influencing local decision-makers to support health and nutrition initiatives.
Required Experience And Education
High school diploma or technical training in Community Development, Social Work, Midwifery, Nursing, Psychology, or other health-related fields.
Minimum of 1 - 3 years in community organizing or health promotion.
A proven track record in facilitating training or conducting adult education sessions is mandatory.
Must be a resident of the area and fluent in the local language/dialect.
Must possess a deep understanding of local cultural norms and practices.
Willingness to travel and work in remote areas.
Primary Roles And Responsibilities
Training Facilitation: Serve as the Lead Facilitator for community-level capacity building. Deliver technical training modules and adult education sessions designed to improve health and nutrition knowledge and practices.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Execution:
Data Collection: Collect and submit routine monitoring data using the standardized tools provided by the MEAL unit (e.g., attendance sheets, screening forms) on time and accurately.
Feedback Collection: Act as the frontline channel for the Community Feedback and Response Mechanism (CFRM) by gathering feedback, complaints, and suggestions from beneficiaries and forwarding them to the MEAL team/Field Coordinator.
Participation: Participate in reflection sessions to share grassroots observations on what is working well and what challenges are faced in implementation.
Grassroots Advocacy: Advocate with Municipal and Barangay Local Government Units (LGU/BLGU) to prioritize health and nutrition in their local plans and budgets. Mobilize community support to influence local policy implementation.
Active Case Finding: Lead screening missions to identify active cases of malnutrition and facilitate appropriate referrals.
Behavior Change Communication (BCC): Conduct interpersonal counseling and promotion activities to foster positive behavior changes regarding health, nutrition, and hygiene practices.
Mentoring: Mentor local health workers and volunteers on proper technical procedures and data collection methods.
Other Duties: Undertake other necessary tasks as requested by the Field Coordinator or the organization to ensure the smooth operation of field activities.
