RONIN International is a global market research company providing high-quality data collection services to research agencies worldwide, specialising in B2B, opinion former and healthcare audiences.

We are looking for a hands-on TechOps Engineer – Team Leader to lead our local technical team in Makati and collaborate closely with our UK-based Technical Operations team.

This role combines technical expertise with team leadership, ensuring the security, reliability and performance of our hosting environments while providing effective support to internal teams and clients.


Job Requirements

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience leading or supervising a technical team, including allocating work, coaching colleagues and providing constructive feedback.
• Strong hands-on experience with Windows and Linux environments, including Apache or Nginx.
• Practical experience with AWS services, such as EC2, VPC, RDS and S3.
• Experience with DNS management and web hosting operations.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong troubleshooting, prioritisation and incident management skills.
• A proactive, accountable and collaborative approach to technical problem-solving and team leadership.
  

• Experience with Kubernetes or AWS EKS and Azure services.
• Knowledge of complex web hosting architectures, Cloudflare, CDN and security services.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and content management systems such as Drupal, WordPress or Umbraco.
• Experience with PHP, .NET, cloud automation tools and Datadog.
• Knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server administration.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, compliance and risk mitigation.
• Familiarity with telephony systems and troubleshooting.
  

• A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Lead the local technical team, including work allocation, mentoring, coaching and supporting team members' development.
• Provide hands-on technical support and act as the local escalation point for incidents and complex technical issues.
• Manage and maintain secure, reliable and high-performing hosting environments across Windows, Linux and AWS.
• Support the deployment, migration, maintenance and troubleshooting of websites and applications.
• Monitor system performance, availability and security, identifying and addressing potential issues.
• Coordinate with the UK Technical Operations team, internal stakeholders and external clients to resolve technical issues and deliver projects.
• Maintain clear operational documentation, troubleshooting guides and handovers between the Philippines and UK teams.
• Prioritise incidents, routine support and project work, ensuring timely communication and appropriate escalation.
• Participate in an on-call rota when required.
