Senior Services Engineer AU Retail Hybrid

Schedule: Monday to Friday (7:00AM - 4:00PM PHT)

What are we looking for?

This role is to provide SME skills and experience on AWS and adjacent infrastructure and Services to Digital teams allowing them to build, lifecycle and maintain their workloads and environments ongoing sustainably and effectively through a mixture of provisioning services and providing direction to teams and individuals.

Skills Required

• 5 years IT experience - primarily with SRE, DevOps or Operations focused teams
• Hands on experience operating within ITIL based Incident Management processes
• Experience working cross functionally at senior levels
• Exposure to the Software development lifecycle and processes
• Agile development processes
  
  

Technical

• Hands on experience with building out and managing AWS infrastructure and services.
• Hands on experience building out observability with at least one of Data Dog or Sumo Logic in an enterprise environment predominately on AWS workloads.
• Experience with designing and building out observability for full-stack Node & JavaScript-based cloud-native solutions within AWS. Knowledge of other related technology stacks and languages will be well-regarded.
• Experience with containerization orchestration technologies like Docker, EKS, and ECS.
• Experience with Git (GitHub or Bitbucket)
• Supplemented with experience developing with:
• AWS platform native services (compute, databases, storage, analytics, networking)
• Microservices architecture (SOA, EDA)
• Modern web applications (HTML/CSS, SPA, JavaScript)
• Web services integration (REST, SOAP)
• Experience with engineering practices, including:
• Data Dog and/or SumoLogic respective query languages
• Providing configuration and observability via infrastructure as code using AWS CloudFormation or CDK (using Python or JavaScript).
• AWS CloudWatch, X-Ray and Systems Manager
• Continuous integration & deployments (CI/CD) using Jenkins or similar tools.
• Automation: especially around automatically integrating monitoring and alerting into automated services and products.
• Proven track record in supporting rapid and agile product development and management
  

What will you do?

Technical Leadership

• Provide subject matter expertise on AWS and adjacent technologies within the SDLC platform landscape.
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise on building and managing Jenkins based CI/CD pipelines
• Provide Subject Matter expertise on building and managing container-based systems.
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise on proactive observability practices and outcomes within AWS environments.
• Provide subject matter expertise on DataDog and/or SumoLogic
  
  

Quality Assurance

• Ensure Digital teams have access to meaningful and practical observability on the quality of our product throughout the CI/CD pipeline.
• Maintain best practice standards and procedures in line with the strategic direction for the team, with regards to
• Incident, Problem and Change Management
• Technical architecture, system availability and security

Information Management, Security, Disaster Planning and Recovery

• Work with Digital Engineers to ensure all applications are secure and comply with Officeworks Security & Privacy standards
• Ensure developers adhere to the Officeworks Secure Coding practices
• Ensure that all digital forms of information are timely, relevant and complete
• Provide security to all systems, assets and information where feasible to protect the Companys assets and ability to operate
• Contribute to the development and ensure the integrity of all relevant Disaster Recovery Plans for Online Applications
