The Role: Senior Instructional Designer

Imagine joining a team where your expertise in learning systems becomes the foundation for how an entire organization grows. At ClearDesk, our Remote Team Members and Core Team come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique talents. What they need is a structured, scalable learning architecture — and youre the person who will build it.


As a Senior Instructional Designer, you wont just create content. Youll design the frameworks, pathways, and governance systems that ensure knowledge is transferred, applied, and continuously improved. In the first phase of this role, your focus will be heavily on the build: conducting training needs analyses, auditing and optimizing our LMS, standardizing learning frameworks, and developing high-quality content from scratch.


Over time, as those foundations are in place, youll also contribute to facilitation, leadership coaching, and workshops for our TSMs and managers. Your impact will be felt across every level of the organization — from new hire onboarding to senior leadership development.


What Your Days Might Look Like:

  • Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to identify performance gaps, capability requirements, and learning priorities across RTM and Core Team roles
  • Design end-to-end learning ecosystems and structured learning pathways, including onboarding-to-proficiency frameworks for client-facing and internal roles
  • Build performance development frameworks — including terminal objectives, knowledge checks, reinforcement steps, and content review cadences (monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Create standardized training assets: curricula, storyboards, scripts, job aids, assessments, simulations, and role-based learning scenarios
  • Audit, optimize, and manage our LMS (Thinkific or equivalent), including content governance, version control, and learner progress tracking
  • Leverage AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Synthesia, ElevenLabs) to accelerate content creation and instructional design workflows
  • Design and maintain facilitator guides to ensure consistent training delivery across the internal training team
  • Partner with HR, Talent Success, and Operations to align learning programs with business priorities
  • Support leadership development initiatives, including coaching frameworks and remote management training for TSMs and managers
  • Facilitate virtual instructor-led training (vILT) sessions as needed, particularly as frameworks mature


Who We Think Will Thrive in This Role:

  • You have 5+ years of hands-on instructional design experience, with a portfolio that demonstrates framework development — not just content creation
  • Youre a builder and an individual contributor — you create the storyboard, the content, and the module yourself, rather than delegating pieces to others
  • You have strong command of adult learning theory, instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, 4C/ID), Blooms Taxonomy, and learning science principles
  • You think like a process improvement manager: you know how to do a needs analysis, map learning paths, define measures of success, and build in content review rigor
  • You have experience working cross-functionally and engaging with leaders and senior stakeholders, not just entry-level audiences
  • Youre proficient in LMS platforms (Thinkific or similar) and learning design tools (Canva, Articulate, Captivate preferred)
  • Youre comfortable using AI tools to accelerate and enhance your work — speed matters
  • You have excellent English communication skills (written and verbal), suitable for a global, remote environment
  • Youre adaptable, self-directed, and thrive in fast-moving environments with shifting priorities
  • You are willing to work in a US time zone schedule
  • You can secure the required technical setup, including:
  • At least a 720p HD webcam
  • A noise-canceling headset
  • A primary internet connection of at least 25 Mbps
  • A backup laptop, backup internet device, and backup power source
  • A main computer with at least Intel Core i5 (or equivalent) and 8 GB RAM
  • A backup computer with at least Intel Core i3 and 4 GB RAM
