Required Technical Skills

  • Cisco Collaboration Suite: CUCM, Unity, UCCX, CER
  • Cisco IOS Voice Gateway configuration (SIP/MGCP/H.323)
  • PSTN Technologies: POTS, ISDN, PRI, SIP Trunks
  • Protocols: SIP, SCCP, MGCP, H.323, RTP
  • Session Border Controllers (SBCs)
  • Microsoft Teams Voice & Direct Routing
  • VTC Room Technologies: Cisco Webex Room Kits, MS Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, Poly/Logitech devices
  • Video Platform Admin Tools: Webex Control Hub, Teams Admin Center, Zoom Dashboard
  • Basic Networking: TCP/IP, QoS, DNS, DHCP, VLANs
  • Reporting Tools: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Project, Visio

Preferred Qualifications

  • CCIE Collaboration (strongly preferred)
  • CCNA Collaboration or CCNA Routing & Switching
  • Microsoft Teams Voice or AVIXA CTS certification
  • Experience with SS7 signaling and protocol stacks
  • Familiarity with video monitoring tools like Vyopta, IR Collaborate, or Appspace

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Voice & Collaboration (Core)

  • Design, configure, and maintain Cisco Unified Communications solutions, including: CUCM, CUC, CER, UCCX, Voice Gateways (MGCP/SIP/H.323), Cisco IOS voice configurations.
  • Manage and troubleshoot PSTN access including: POTS, E1, T1, ISDN, PRI, SIP trunks.
  • Configure and maintain Session Border Controllers (SBCs).
  • Integrate and support Microsoft Teams Voice including Direct Routing and SBC connectivity.
  • Collaborate with ISPs and telecom vendors for deployment, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • VTC (Video Teleconferencing) & Telepresence
  • Deploy, support, and optimize Video Conferencing Rooms (VTC) and Telepresence systems.
  • Configure and troubleshoot video collaboration platforms, including: Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR), Cisco Webex / Webex Calling, Zoom Rooms, Google Meet Hardware.
  • Oversee interoperability and integration between platforms.
  • Ensure video solutions are scalable, secure, and high-performance.
  • Manage monitoring and alerting tools for VTC rooms (hardware status, call quality, usage reports).

General Duties

  • Participate in project planning and implementation for unified communications.
  • Troubleshoot escalated incidents across voice and video systems.
  • Maintain detailed documentation (call flows, architecture diagrams, SOPs).
  • Provide Tier 3 support and mentor junior engineers.
  • Participate in a rotational on-call support schedule.
