Senior Backend Engineer EU Fintech WFH

Salary: P120,000-P170,000 (Monthly Package)

Schedule: 8:00AM to 5:00PM Manila Time

What are we looking for?

Skills Required

• Strong backend engineering expertise using Python and Django for building scalable, secure services
• API design and integration experience with HTTP/REST APIs, including high-volume transaction processing
• Database architecture and optimization, particularly with PostgreSQL, schema design, and performance tuning
• Asynchronous and background processing using tools like Celery or similar task queues
• Cloud infrastructure experience on AWS, including deployment, scalability, and reliability considerations
• System performance monitoring, debugging, and optimization in production environments
• Security-first mindset, including application security, access controls, and incident awareness
• Strong problem-solving and ownership mentality, able to translate business and client requirements into scalable technical solutions
  
  

Nice to Have

• Experience with HTMX or modern frontend enhancement techniques
• Infrastructure-as-code exposure using Terraform or similar tools
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 and/or SOC 2 compliance requirements
• Experience with SIEM tools and security monitoring practices
• Background in FinTech, payments, or transaction-heavy platforms
• Experience supporting enterprise client integrations and technical onboarding
• Exposure to DevOps or SRE practices in high-availability systems
  
  

What will you do?

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Python and Django to support high-volume loyalty transactions
• Lead platform performance, scalability, and security improvements, ensuring reliability as the business grows rapidly
• Collaborate closely with Product, Operations, and Client teams to translate business and enterprise requirements into repeatable technical solutions
• Optimize database architecture and queries (PostgreSQL) to improve system efficiency and data integrity
• Oversee cloud infrastructure and application deployments on AWS, ensuring high availability and resilience
• Monitor production systems, investigate incidents and performance issues, and provide second-line operational support to meet SLAs
• Guide and uphold engineering best practices, including code quality, documentation, and architectural consistency
• Support enterprise client onboarding and integrations, acting as a technical partner rather than a pure implementer
