Role Overview:

Nuix is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Revenue Accountant to join our global Finance team. This role is critical to ensuring the accurate and compliant accounting for revenue generated from our enterprise B2B software sales across various international markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IFRS 15, experience with complex software arrangements, including licensing, subscriptions, and professional services, and a solid track record in a global, multi-currency environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the financial operations of a fast-paced, growing software company.

This position is an initial full-time 6 month contract with the possibility of extension and will be primarily a flexible remote working arrangement in the Philippines as part of our Regional Operating Head Quarters.

Key Responsibilities

1. Revenue Accounting and Compliance

• Processing of closed sales orders through NetSuite’s Advanced Revenue Module consistent with company practices and guidelines
• Execute and manage the month-end and quarter-end close process specifically related to revenue, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Ensure strict adherence to IFRS 15 for all revenue streams, including the identification of performance obligations, determination of transaction price, and allocation to performance obligations.
• Review complex multi-element sales contracts (licensing, subscription, professional services, maintenance) to ensure proper revenue recognition treatment in accordance with company policy and IFRS.
• Collaborate with colleagues when complex contract terms are identified to ensure understanding of revenue recognition on across a diverse variety of contracts

2. Reporting and Analysis

• Prepare and analyze key revenue-related accounts and provide detailed explanations of variances.
• Assist with the preparation of internal and external financial reporting deliverables related to revenue and deferred revenue.
• Support financial audits by preparing required documentation and responding to auditor inquiries regarding revenue recognition.

3. Systems and Process Improvement

• Partner with Sales, Legal, and Operations teams to complete month end and deal recognition processes
• Proficiency in using Sales Force and Netsuite to ensure accuracy and efficiency of outputs for revenue recognition.
• Drive process improvements and automation within the revenue accounting function to increase efficiency and scalability.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Education and Experience

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA/CA certification or equivalent preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with a focus on revenue recognition in the software industry.
• Hands-on working knowledge of IFRS 15 is mandatory, specifically relating to B2B software and subscription (SaaS) models.
• Experience in a global, multi-currency corporate environment is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies

• Attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and apply accounting guidance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments (Sales, Legal, Operations).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas) and experience with a major ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
