Platform Engineer - Remote

Join our innovative team as a Platform Engineer focused on developing and managing core platform products (database, backup) and building container orchestration with OpenStack and Kubernetes (K8s), primarily using Rancher and GitLab for CI/CD. Drive the creation of robust and scalable cloud solutions.This is a remote role and is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of developing and integrating cutting-edge cloud products that protect some of Australia’s most critical data.

You will be responsible for:

• Ensuring the design, development, and upkeep of high-quality, scalable systems.
• Working cross-functionally to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Engaging in Vault’s SDLC, leveraging DevOps practices and maintaining coding standards.
• Contributing to backlog management, resource planning, and efficient product delivery.
• Staying ahead of industry trends, drive innovation, and optimize system design.

To be successful you will be able to demonstrate with:

• Proficiency in platform layer solutions, e.g. database, backup.
• Proficiency in cloud native technologies.
• Design and architecture of platform orchestration.
• Real-life experience with industry standard automation toolkits
• GitLab administration and CI/CD pipeline management.
• Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers in delivery of required outcomes
• Broad set of technical skills and knowledge across hardware, software, systems and solutions development and a across more than one technical domain
• Demonstrated ability to quickly perform proof-of-concepts for validating new technology or approach
• A passion for technology and security
