The role

This is a foundational leadership role responsible for building, scaling, and steering the entire Air & Ocean operational platform in the Philippines as the country organization enters a start-up and growth phase.

The role ensures operational excellence, compliance, productivity, and customer satisfaction across all processes, while building the necessary people, structure, and procedures to support rapid growth and long-term profitability. He/she is the strategic bridge between local execution, regional standards, and global frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and develop the export/import teams from a start-up phase to a scale-up capacity.
• Embed a performance-driven, customer-centric, and compliance-first culture, defining clear KPIs, workflows, and quality controls.
• Manage the complex transition roadmap (scope, milestones, risks) to move operations from the current agent to the new country organization.
• Maintain seamless stability and continuity of Air & Ocean services for all customers during the critical cutover period, coordinating documentation and SOP alignment professionally.
• Oversee daily operations for accuracy, timeliness, and service excellence in all export/import activities, upholding strict operational standards.
• Guarantee full adherence to all local regulations (Customs, Tax, Labor), global standards (Export control, anti-corruption), and internal audit requirements. Implement robust risk mitigation and business continuity plans.
• Negotiate vendor rates, support the Sales team with RFQs/tenders, and ensure high customer retention through service quality. Oversee accurate job costing, revenue recognition, timely billing, and contribute to the countrys overall budget and P&L monitoring for Air & Ocean operations.
  
  

• Strong expertise in Air & Ocean freight operations (export/import)
• Mastery of SOP creation, workflow design, and process control
• Have a network in the Freight Forwarding Ecosytem
• CargoWise / digital systems proficiency (or ability to adopt quickly)
• Solid understanding of job costing, revenue recognition, and GP analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage complex escalations and operational crises
• Strong adherence to ethics, audit, and internal control frameworks
• Ability to implement and enforce compliance processes
• Understanding of export controls, sanctions, and data confidentiality
• Zero-tolerance approach to regulatory breaches
