The Senior IT Operations Engineer – IT Workplace is responsible for ensuring a seamless, reliable, and high-quality end-user IT experience. The role supports workplace technology by managing end-user devices, applications, and collaboration tools, while maintaining operational efficiency, service excellence, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
What will you do?
We know the work we do is vital in assisting Aurecons business globally. Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’.
- Configure and maintain Configuration Manager infrastructure to support clients, distribute content, and deploy operating systems.
- Manage inventory and virtual applications using Configuration Manager.
- Administer enterprise software, including Microsoft Office products.
- Deploy and manage operating systems and ensure compliance with software updates.
- Create and deploy Group Policy for user accounts via System Centre or Microsoft Intune.
- Assist with the remediation of vulnerabilities on servers by packaging its updates for deployment
- Develop a Standard Operating Environment for SCCM deployment.
- Deploy applications and manage collections using System Centre Configuration Manager.
- Adhere to incident, problem, and change management processes within SLAs.
- Automate installations via MSI Repackage, Transforms, and scripting.
- Oversee Exchange and MS Teams platforms, focusing on policy management and capacity planning.
- Ensure operating systems and software currency by timely application of feature and security patches.
- Manage OneDrive policies and oversee capacity planning.
- Drive service improvement initiatives across Domain, Technology, and Process to enhance customer experience and increase efficiency.
Lead asset and configuration identification efforts, contributing to Service Descriptions and SLA enhancements

Qualifications
You will also need the following:
- Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience administering SCCM and Microsoft Intune in an enterprise environment.
- Scripting and automation using tools such as PowerShell, VBScript, WMI, or Windows Script Host (WSH).
- Experience with application packaging tools such as Admin Studio or Wise Package Studio, with a strong understanding of deployment practices.
- Knowledge of diagnostic and monitoring tools (e.g., ProcMon, FileMon, RegMon, Orca) to analyze and resolve system and application issues.
