Join our Manila Payroll Operations team and make a measurable impact on how we manage payroll overpayment recovery and clawbacks. You will go beyond case processing by using data, automation, and continuous improvement to strengthen controls and improve outcomes. As a Payroll Overpayments Recovery Associate in Payroll Operations, you will manage US payroll overpayment recovery and clawback activities end to end. You will track performance through KPIs and dashboards, analyze trends and root causes, and implement process and automation improvements to reduce aging and strengthen controls. You will partner with Payroll, HR, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely resolutions. You will also support audit readiness and protect sensitive employee information.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll overpayment recovery and clawback cases, ensuring accurate and timely resolution.
  • Maintain compliance with firm policies and applicable regulations throughout case processing.
  • Build and enhance KPI and metrics dashboards (e.g., volume, recovery rates, aging, cycle time) and provide insights to leadership.
  • Analyze data to identify patterns and root causes and translate findings into improvement opportunities.
  • Deliver automation initiatives (e.g., Alteryx, Pega) to reduce manual effort and strengthen controls.
  • Design and implement process improvements that reduce case aging and improve employee experience.
  • Resolve complex and escalated cases, including terminated employees and multi-element overpayments.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, and Legal to support accurate case outcomes and accounting treatment.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and evidence standards for case activity and decisions.
  • Monitor performance to targets, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance to junior team members and share best practices while protecting sensitive data.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in payroll operations, HR shared services, finance operations, or a related function.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cases and meeting service-level commitments in a high-volume environment.
  • Proven ability to build and present operational KPIs and metrics dashboards using a data-driven approach.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis and solution design.
  • Hands-on experience with or strong aptitude for automation tools (e.g., Alteryx, Pega).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to manage escalations and competing priorities across multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting insights to leadership.
  • Strong collaboration skills across global, cross-functional teams (Payroll, HR, Finance, Legal).
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and strong data confidentiality practices.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • Knowledge of US payroll fundamentals, including tax and compliance considerations.
  • Experience in payroll overpayment recovery, collections, or similar operations roles.
  • Experience owning automation or workflow improvement projects in payroll or finance operations.
  • Experience using payroll and case management systems (e.g., Oracle HCM, Pega).
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Relevant certifications in payroll, HR systems, analytics, or automation tools.
  • Experience working in a large corporate environment with standardized controls and governance.
