Job Description

Lead the development and execution of the companys credit risk model and strategy across microfinance and SME lending portfolios, balancing portfolio growth with asset quality and profitability targets.
Design, implement, and continuously refine credit policies, underwriting frameworks, scorecards, and approval processes to support scalable and disciplined lending operations nationwide.
Monitor portfolio performance, delinquency trends, write-offs, and collection effectiveness, using data-driven insights to identify emerging risks and recommend corrective actions.
Partner closely with sales, operations, collections, and product teams to optimize customer acquisition, risk segmentation, pricing, and operational efficiency while maintaining prudent risk standards.
Build and lead a high-performing credit risk organization, ensuring strong governance, regulatory compliance, reporting standards, and alignment with the companys long-term growth objectives.

The Successful Applicant

A Successful Head Of Credit Risk Should Have

A strong background in credit risk management within the financial services industry.
Proficiency in developing and implementing credit risk models and risk management frameworks.
In-depth knowledge of statistics and data science
Excellent analytical and decision-making skills to assess and mitigate risks effectively.
Proven experience in leading teams and collaborating with senior stakeholders.
Effective communication skills to manage internal and external relationships.
