Minimum 2 years experience in business intelligence or data analysis across modern and legacy platforms
Strong Power BI skills: dashboard creation, data visualization, report optimization, and user support
Proficient in SQL for data extraction and querying across Microsoft Fabric and SQL Server
Experience using "is/is not" root cause analysis methodology for investigating data quality issues
Familiarity with legacy tools: Excel/VBA, SSRS, OLAP Cubes
Strong communication skills for explaining data issues, supporting tool migration, and engaging with stakeholders
Experience guiding user transitions from legacy systems to modern self-service tools (e.g., Fabric, Power BI)
Highly Valued:
Microsoft certifications: PL-300, DP-600, or other Fabric/Power BI credentials
Experience in Python, R, or other data analytics programming tools
Background in finance, operations, or commercial analysis
Experience conducting training or enablement sessions for business users
Knowledge of statistical analysis and data science techniques
Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric notebooks and Jupyter notebooks
What Youll Do
As a Data Analyst within the Microsoft Fabric Squad, you will play a key role in delivering business insights, supporting end users, and enabling self-service analytics across a hybrid environment of legacy and modern tools. You will work in close collaboration with Data Engineers and Platform Engineers to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities Include
BAU Reporting & Ad-Hoc Analysis
Enhance and maintain dashboards, filters, and reports across Power BI, Excel, and SSRS
Execute ad-hoc analysis to answer cross-functional business questions
Perform trend analysis, identify business opportunities, and deliver actionable insights
Support end-of-month finance data processes and warehouse operations (EDW/IDW)
Data Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
Lead investigations into data quality issues using a structured "is/is not" approach
Collaborate with Data Engineers and Platform Engineers to identify root causes and resolution paths
Validate data across legacy and Fabric reporting systems
Provide clarity on data definitions, limitations, and tool suitability to end users
Self-Service Enablement & Vendor Coordination
Empower business users with self-service capabilities through Power BI and Fabric tools
Deliver hands-on training and create user-friendly documentation
Assist in business requirements gathering and vendor coordination for external data products
Help users choose appropriate tools (Excel vs Power BI vs Fabric capabilities) based on their needs
Insights & Business Support
Analyse performance metrics and identify areas for improvement
Support strategic initiatives with analytics and predictive models
Present findings to business stakeholders and support business cases with data
