Globespan Travel Management is a leading Canadian corporate travel management company providing innovative travel solutions to business clients across North America. Following the recent acquisition of U.S.-based Key Travel, Globespan is expanding its international presence and strengthening its global service capabilities.
The Controller, based in Globespan’s Manila support office, will play a key leadership role in managing global accounting operations and driving process standardization across Canadian and U.S. entities. The role will also collaborate closely with senior management by providing operational and financial analysis that supports strategic planning and informed decision-making. This position combines strong technical accounting expertise, operational leadership, and collaboration with international stakeholders to support Globespan’s continued growth and integration initiatives.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Financial Leadership & Reporting
Lead and develop the Manila-based accounting team supporting North American operations.
Oversee Accounts Payable, Cash Management, and Financial Reporting functions across multiple entities and currencies.
Prepare and review timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages.
Support consolidation of financial results across Canadian and U.S. entities.
Assist with cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
Strategic Financial & Operational Analysis
Partner with senior management to provide financial and operational analysis that supports strategic planning and business decision-making.
Analyze business performance, client profitability, supplier cost trends, and operational efficiency metrics.
Develop reporting and analytical tools that provide leadership with actionable insights.
Identify risks, opportunities, and performance improvement initiatives across departments.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis to guide business strategy and growth initiatives.
Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration
Partner with finance, operations, and commercial teams across North America to support business decision-making.
Provide financial and operational insights related to client profitability, supplier relationships, and travel program performance.
Act as a key liaison between the Manila office and North American teams.
Leadership & Team Development
Mentor and develop accounting team members while fostering a high-performance and collaborative team environment.
Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across global teams.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure adherence to Canadian and U.S. financial reporting requirements and company policies.
Support internal and external audit processes.
Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
Data & Performance Management
Support development and monitoring of key performance indicators and financial dashboards.
Utilize financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and business improvement opportunities.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA or equivalent professional designation preferred.
7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including team leadership.
Experience supporting multi-entity and multi-currency environments.
Experience working with international or shared services teams is strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of ERP/accounting platforms and advanced Excel/data analysis skills.
Experience in travel management, professional services, or high-volume transaction environments is an asset.
