What will you do?

The Civil Design Engineer in Aurecon’s Global Design Centre supports the ANZ Energy team in delivering safe, innovative, and sustainable civil engineering solutions across the project lifecycle, from concept through to detailed design and delivery. Aligned with Aurecon’s purpose of bringing ideas to life, the role contributes to the transition toward low-carbon, resilient, and future-ready energy infrastructure that benefits communities and the environment.

Open to Intermediate, Senior, and Lead levels, this role offers flexibility in technical responsibility and leadership, enabling engineers to apply their expertise, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor others, and grow their careers within a supportive, inclusive, and development-focused global organisation.

• Undertake concept and detailed design of large scale HV infrastructure including: substations, BESS, solar and wind projects. This would include design of earthworks, roads, drainage, layouts, etc.
• Develop detailed civil engineering designs, reports, technical specifications and relevant documentation.
• Opportunity to work in civil design models i.e Civil 3D and 12D
• Required to develop knowledge of relevant industry/client standards, guidelines and regulations
• Assist advancement of digital engineering and digital innovation skills within the team
• Opportunity to provide innovation and creativity to increase digital efficiencies

What can you bring to the team?

Firstly, You Will Share Our Genuine Passion For Re-imagining Engineering And Be Someone That Actively Pursues Continuous Learning To Help Shape The Future. You Will Also Need The Following

• A minimum of 3 years professional experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus successful execution of the civil engineering discipline within Energy related projects
• Proven experience in designing transmission lines rated higher than 132kV
• Demonstrable experience working with offshore designers, alongside an ability to coordinate and communicate effectively across different time zones and cultures
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Familiarity with Australian and New Zealand electrical codes and practices is highly advantageous
