We’re High Scale — a future-focused, data-obsessed agency revolutionizing video advertising on TV and social media. Think Amazon’s obsession with customer experience meets SpaceX’s fearless ambition—that’s the DNA behind everything we do.
Our 120-person team of creatives, strategists, and innovators produces thousands of high-impact campaigns weekly for the world’s leading lifestyle, fashion, beauty, and DTC brands. With 50,000 sq. ft. of DTLA studios and a global influencer network, we’re ready to 10x our output in 2026—and we need an Associate Editor who combines technical precision with strong storytelling instincts to deliver high-performance video content.
Why This Role Matters
Narrative, rhythm, and polish are your playground. As an Associate Editor, you are a core pillar of our post-production team. You are no longer just assembling footage; you are crafting the story. You will take ownership of end-to-end edits, transforming raw rushes into compelling, broadcast-quality ads that drive emotion and action.
Your work will directly impact the performance of our campaigns. If you are ready to step up from junior tasks, take creative ownership of your timeline, and produce work that defines the visual standard of top DTC brands, this is your launchpad.
What You’ll Do
Execute End-to-End Editing
Take creative briefs and raw footage (studio or UGC) and independently craft polished video ads from start to finish.
Make creative decisions on pacing, music selection, and sound design to elevate the emotional impact of the video.
Ensure the "hook" (first 3 seconds) is visually arresting and optimized for audience retention.
Elevate Visual Polish
Perform intermediate color correction and color grading to ensure brand consistency and visual appeal.
Design and animate essential motion graphics (text overlays, logo builds, lower thirds) using After Effects.
Clean and mix audio to professional standards, ensuring clear dialogue and balanced music levels.
Collaborate & Iterate
Work directly with Art Directors and Producers to integrate feedback efficiently.
Problem-solve creative challenges in the edit bay, offering multiple solutions or "alt cuts" when needed.
Mentor Junior Editors on technical workflows and best practices when applicable.
Manage Deliverables
Manage your own project timelines to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
Export final assets in multiple formats and aspect ratios, ensuring strict adherence to technical specs for TV and Social platforms.
Who You Are
A Skilled Storyteller
2–4 years of experience in video editing (agency or production house). You have moved past "learning the tools" and are now focused on "crafting the story."
You understand the nuances of pacing—you know when to let a shot breathe and when to cut fast for energy.
Technically Advanced
Expert proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Strong working knowledge of After Effects (you can build your own text animations and transitions) and DaVinci Resolve (or Lumetri Color) for grading.
Performance-Minded
You understand that we are an ad agency. You edit with the conversion in mind, prioritizing clarity and CTA (Call to Action) visibility.
You are open to data-driven feedback (e.g., "The drop-off rate is high at 0:05, let's change the cut").
Organized & Autonomous
You can manage a project from ingest to export with minimal hand-holding.
You maintain immaculate project organization, making it easy for other editors to jump into your timeline if needed.
Excellent Communicator
Strong English proficiency is required. You can articulate your creative choices clearly and advocate for your ideas in a collaborative remote environment.
Perks & Benefits
Growth Opportunities: Influence the creative direction of major campaigns and clear path to Senior Editor roles.
Relentless Innovation Culture: Move fast, test constantly, and collaborate with some of the most creative minds in social media and video production.
