As a Senior AWS Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and improving AWS-based production environments for our clients as part of amanaged services team. You will handle incident response and troubleshooting, drive operational improvements, and guide junior engineers while working closely with internal and client stakeholders.
Provide hands-on incident response and troubleshooting for AWS production environments, including investigation, mitigation, and follow-through actions.
Act as a senior escalation point for complex operational issues, ensuring timely updates and clear communication during incidents.
Support AWS infrastructure operations across core services (e.g., VPC, EC2, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, load balancing, autoscaling), following client standards and change management processes.
Identify recurring issues and help implement preventative actions through automation, documentation, and process improvements.
Create and maintain operational documentation such as runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and standard procedures.
Participate in post-incident reviews (RCA) and help ensure corrective and preventive actions are tracked to completion.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, provide technical direction, review work outputs, and promote good operational practices.
Demonstrate leadership in day-to-day execution—helping prioritize work, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and driving a calm, structured approach during high-pressure situations.
Participate in an on-call rotation as part of a 24/7 operations model, with proper handoffs and team support.
Your Qualifications
3+ years hands-on AWS experience supporting production environments (not just training or labs).
Strong knowledge of AWS fundamentals and core services such as VPC, EC2, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, and exposure to services like RDS, Route 53, ALB/NLB, Auto Scaling, EKS/ECS, and Lambda.
Proven experience in incident response, troubleshooting, and operational support, including log/metrics analysis and structured root-cause investigation.
Linux troubleshooting skills and a solid understanding of system and networking fundamentals.
Basic scripting/automation ability (e.g., Python or Bash) to reduce repetitive operational tasks.
Excellent communication skills (written and oral)—can write clear incident updates, documentation, and explain technical issues to stakeholders.
Preferably has leadership skills (formal or informal), with the ability to guide others, lead discussions, and influence improvements.
Plus points if you have:
Familiarity with ITSM tools and practices (incident/change management), and participating in post-incident reviews.
Experience in multi-account AWS environments, governance, security best practices, and cost awareness.
