Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000

General Function

The Quality Associate supports the maintenance and ongoing improvement of the organization’s quality management system (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 to ensure products and services meet customer requirements and exceed expectations.

Primary tasks of the role include supporting the maintenance of the organization’s controlled documentation to meet internal, customer and legal/regulatory requirements, supporting project teams in efficient information management, supporting the internal audit program, performing inspection checks, and participating in continual improvement activities, including corrective action.

Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance and ongoing improvement of the quality management system in compliance with ISO 9001:2015.
  • Follow established quality management principles and practices to drive organizational excellence.
  • Maintain established documentation practices to ensure the effective planning, operation and control of the organization’s QMS processes in line with their objectives and ISO 9001:2015.
  • Content administrator of the document management system, responsible for the control of documents and associated records.
  • Collaborate with document owners to maintain content and review submitted documents for accuracy, completeness and consistency with corporate styles before publication into the QMS.
  • Support the audit program, in accordance with ISO 19011:2018.
  • Contribute to project-specific quality plans in line with ISO 10005:2018.
  • Ensure appropriate statutory, regulatory, customer and business quality requirements are incorporated at the project planning phase.
  • Support the Project Manager and project team in realizing the project-specific quality plan, achieving quality objectives and ensuring complete turnover of customer quality records.
  • Support the supplier/contractor evaluation, selection and monitoring quality program.
  • Perform quality testing, inspection and analysis of products/services for compliance with stated requirements, ensuring control and appropriate disposition of nonconforming product/material.
  • Support corrective action, following the 8D problem-solving methodology.
  • Participate in improvement initiatives, as assigned by the manager.
  • Some travel is required and may be arranged at short notice.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities, as assigned by the manager.

Knowledge & Experience

This role requires a team player with good interpersonal skills, as well as organization, time management, communication, and presentation skills.

The Quality Associate is analytical and a critical thinker with a genuine customer focus, a strong work ethic, an eye for detail and a high level of workmanship.

  • College Diploma in a related field
  • 2-5 years proven work experience in a similar role
  • Internal auditing experience is desirable
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt would be an advantage
  • ASQ-certified or ASQ member in good standing
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, quality principles, tools and techniques
  • Working knowledge of document control activities
  • Computer (Windows) literate in Microsoft 365
  • Understanding of process mapping
  • Proficient in technical writing with the ability to produce such in various output formats for technical and non-technical users
  • Demonstrable collaborative approach to problem-solving and continual improvement
