The Building Maintenance and Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing the infrastructure, systems, and equipment of a manufacturing plant. The technician ensures that all facilities and utilities function efficiently and safely to support continuous manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct routine inspections of building infrastructure and equipment.
Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance
Ensure smooth operation of support systems
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
Install and maintain electrical components, wiring, controls and lighting systems, circuit breakers etc.
Maintain and update maintenance logs, checklists, and service records.
Support installation of new equipment, modifications, or plant expansions.
Respond to emergency maintenance calls promptly to minimize downtime.
Follow safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with external contractors and service providers as needed.
Keep tools, work areas, and equipment clean and organized.
HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) MASONRY and Plumbing experience is a plus
Qualification And Requirements
Basic or advanced knowledge in Motor Controls
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred.
EIM NC II Certification in Electrical Installation & Maintenance, or Mechanical Maintenance (or equivalent).
PACU/CRE NC2 is a plus
Motor control nc2 is a plus
HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) MASONRY and Plumbing experience is a plus
At least 2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Solid understanding of building systems and maintenance practices.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and blueprints.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices.
Physically fit and able to work in various environmental conditions (hot, noisy, confined spaces, etc.)
Preferred Skills
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Basic computer skills for maintenance reporting.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Manufacturing plant environment with potential exposure to machinery noise, heat, chemicals, and dust.
May involve climbing ladders, lifting heavy objects, and working at heights or in tight spaces.
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) must be worn at all times.
