About the Job:

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer to join our clients team and support Medicaid/MMIS systems development and maintenance initiatives. In this role, you will work closely with Medicaid Services MMIS and MEDS teams to develop, enhance, and support COBOL and ADS programs within IDMS database environments. You will be responsible for coding, debugging, testing, and supporting production and QA activities while collaborating with technical and business teams in a healthcare-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, ADS, and IDMS technologies.
• Perform coding changes in accordance with technical and design specifications.
• Debug, unit test, and support integration testing for application enhancements and fixes.
• Collaborate with MMIS, MEDS, QA, and business teams to support testing activities and issue resolution.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), QA testing, and external testing by implementing required fixes and updates.
• Work with IDMS Network and Relational Databases for application development and maintenance.
• Participate in on-call support rotation and assist in resolving production issues.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to application changes and support activities.
• Collaborate effectively with internal staff and external contractors in a remote work environment.
• Ensure adherence to development standards, processes, and operational procedures.
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in Mainframe Development.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience with MVS COBOL, JCL, and IDMS/Network.
• 7+ years of experience with CA-ADS.
• 5+ years of experience with Changeman, CICS, and VSAM.
• Strong experience in debugging, testing, and maintaining legacy mainframe systems.
• Experience in Medicaid, Medicare, MMIS, or healthcare claims processing is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with tools and technologies such as SAS, File-Aid, MQ, Endevor, and Xpeditor is an advantage.
