Job Description

The Fraud Analytics Officer is responsible for leveraging data analytics to detect, prevent and mitigate fraud across digital platforms. This role involves analyzing transaction patterns, refining fraud detection models, and supporting rule development to enhance digital fraud defense capabilities.

Responsibilities

3.1. Fraud Monitoring and Detection

Monitor digital transactions, customer behavior, and fraud alerts to identify suspicious activities and emerging fraud trends

3.2. Fraud Rule Development and Optimization

Design, calibrate, and continuously enhance fraud detection rules, thresholds, and scenarios to improve fraud capture while minimizing false positives.

3.3. Fraud Analytics and Reporting

Analyze fraud data, incident trends, loss exposure, and detection performance; prepare dashboards, reports,and actionable insights for management.

3.4. Fraud Risk Assessment and Preventive Control Support

Assess vulnerabilities across digital channels and recommend preventive controls, system enhancements, and risk mitigation measures.

3.5 Alert Management and Operational Efficiency

Review and optimize alert volumes, improve prioritization strategies, and support operational efficiency through alert rationalization.

3.6. Project and Stakeholder Management

Collaborate with business units, operations, IT, cybersecurity, compliance, and vendors for fraud-related]initiatives, implementations, and system enhancements

3.7. Regulatory and Policy Compliance Support

Ensure fraud monitoring activities align with internal policies, AML requirements, regulatory expectations and industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of digital banking products, payment channels and fraud typologies
  • Understanding of fraud risk management principles, transaction monitoring, and fraud detection methodologies.
  • Knowledge of data analysis, trend analysis and reporting techniques
  • Knowledge of customer behavior analysis and fraud indicators across channels/products.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting analytics tools
  • Proficiency in data analysis
  • Fraud Detection and Investigation skills
  • Familiarity with fraud monitoring systems
  • Strong accuracy in reviewing or validating transactions and identifying fraud indicators with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to clearly present insights, operational issues and recommendations to stakeholders and management.
  • Ability to make sound and timely judgements during fraud incidents and operational escalations.
