Duties & Responsibilities
Month-end and year-end processes for manufacturing concern
Review raw materials receipts, reconcile through processing software to actual stock on hand through to GL
Review job costs and allocation of indirect overheads to jobs and make appropriate adjustments to GL for Work in Progress inventory
Review overhead allocations for correct coding and cost centres, update automation AI for future allocations
Populate and prepare balance sheet reconciliations for review by Finance Manager
Bank Account reconciliation and forecasting
Assisting in the audit process (providing supporting info, samples on request)
Review exceptions from AI supported automations of AP / AR / Inventory
Provide key stakeholders with information required for operational decision-making including analysis
Providing support with finance’s involvement in operational, commercial, and special projects
Identification and contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes
Conduct general/ad hoc accounting and financial duties as request by supervisor
Additional Duties
Assist Foreign exchange transactions, purchase orders and payments
Assist and support global divisions with accounts and process – Americas & China
Review Capex Jobs, journals and creation of record with asset register, align to depreciation policy for accounting and tax
Support general business alignment to finance processes and procedures
Qualifications
Qualification in Accounting (Bachler of Business / Commerce)
Post-graduate membership with accounting designation (eg CPA / Chartered Accountant)
Knowledge, Experience & Skills
Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Assistant Accountant or post-qualification experience in a similar role
High proficiency in performing reconciliations and commitment to accuracy
Ability to prepare P&L, balance sheet and cashflows
High proficiency in MS Office suite with advanced Excel skills (understanding ODBC / data integrations)
Clear communication and effective listening skills
Experienced in collaborating closely with operational teams to assist to ensure controls compliance as well as financial outcomes are enhanced
Prior experience with ERP systems such as MS Dynamics 365, XERO, MYOB EXO – highly desirable
Experience gained in an audit environment or within an industry with exposure to engineering, manufacturing, or related resource industry environment
