AI Engineer Construction AU Hybrid

Role Overview We are seeking a senior, hands-on AI Engineer to design, build, and operationalize applied AI solutions across our enterprise technology stack. In this role, you will work with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Snowflake, Palantir, and frontier models including Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and Co-Work.

This is not a single-tool developer position. You will combine multiple platforms, orchestration patterns, and pre-built models to deliver production-grade AI capabilities—improving productivity, decision-making, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build AI assistants, RAG systems, recommendation engines, and AI-enabled APIs using Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Snowflake, Palantir, and other enterprise platforms.
• Engineer model-level integrations with frontier models (Claude, Copilot, Co-Work), including prompt engineering, evaluation, and tuning.
• Develop reusable patterns, components, and orchestration frameworks to scale AI across the business.
• Partner with the AI Analyst, AI Integrator, and Data Engineering teams to translate workflows into deployable AI solutions.
• Establish engineering standards for testing, evaluation, observability, security, and responsible AI.
• Operationalize solutions into production with CI/CD, lifecycle management, and performance monitoring.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, GRC, and architecture teams to ensure compliance with risk, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to AI capability uplift across the IT team through pair-building, knowledge sharing, and documentation.
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
• Microsoft AI / Azure certifications (AI-102, AI-300, AI-900) and/or Snowflake/Palantir certifications are highly desirable.
  
  

• Senior-level experience building applied or generative AI solutions in an enterprise environment, with a track record of moving prototypes to production.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, and the broader Microsoft AI stack.
• Working knowledge of Snowflake and Palantir.
• Experience integrating frontier models (Claude, Copilot, Co-Work) via APIs/SDKs.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: Python, .NET, REST APIs, source control, CI/CD, automated testing.
• Comfort as a cross-stack generalist—able to make sound architectural decisions across multiple platforms.
• Understanding of responsible AI principles, model evaluation, prompt engineering, and AI safety.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business value.
