About The Role

We are looking for a UI/UX Consultant (Freelance) to help design and refine the user experience across our growing product ecosystem, including:

• Client-facing portals (white-labeled solutions)
• Tutor platforms
• Internal operational dashboards
• Booking, assessment, and session flows
  
  

This role goes beyond visual design. We are looking for a systems thinker who can conduct structured research, design scalable user journeys, and help shape product architecture from discovery through implementation.

You will work closely with the Tech & Product team on system logic and implementation, while collaborating with Marketing/Brand to ensure visual consistency.

This is initially a freelance role (20 hours/week). Strong performance and product impact can lead to a full-time permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

• Research & Discovery (First Principle)
• Conduct structured user research (interviews, journey mapping, usability testing)
• Analyze user behavior and friction points across parent, tutor, recruiter, client admin, and ops journeys
• Identify workflow inefficiencies and opportunity areas before proposing design solutions
• Translate research findings into clear UX hypotheses and design frameworks
• Product & UX Strategy
• Translate business and operational requirements into structured user flows
• Design end-to-end journeys (parent, tutor, recruiter, client admin, ops teams)
• Define interaction models and scalable UX systems
• Propose system-level improvements aligned with commercial and operational goals
• Wireframing, Prototyping & Visual Fidelity
• Create low- and high-fidelity wireframes in Figma (mobile + desktop)
• Design interactive prototypes for validation and stakeholder alignment
• Apply strong visual hierarchy, spacing, and typography principles
• Translate EDGE Tutor brand guidelines into scalable UI components

Our Client Engagements Fall Into Two Distinct Categories

• Integrated Environments
  
  

Some clients already have fully built systems. In these cases, we must:

• Design within existing technical constraints
• Improve UX without disrupting core architecture
• Clearly define system boundaries between client and Edge systems
• Full Turnkey Builds
  
  

Other clients expect us to design and structure entire systems from scratch, including:

• Scheduling portals
• Assessment systems
• Booking and credit logic
• Multi-role dashboards
  
  

You will help design both types of environments.

• Collaboration & Implementation
• Work closely with Product, Engineering, Ops, and Marketing
• Prepare dev-ready Figma files (Auto-layout, Components, Variables, annotations)
• Participate in sprint discussions to ensure design intent is preserved
• Support iterative product refinement post-launch
  
  

Work Setup

• Engagement: Freelance Consultant
• Hours: Approx. 20 hours per week

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years in UI/UX or Product Design
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product thinking (not just landing pages)
• Advanced Figma proficiency (Auto-layout, Components, Variables, Prototyping)
• Experience designing dashboards, portals, and multi-role systems
• Strong research capability (usability testing, structured discovery)
• Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams
• Ability to clearly articulate and defend design rationale
  
  

Nice to Have

• Experience in EdTech or SaaS
• Experience with white-labeled B2B or enterprise platforms
• Familiarity with API-based system integrations
• Understanding of front-end constraints (HTML/CSS/React concepts)
