Your Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer / SolidWorks Designer, you will:

• Support sales and engineering teams with customer design reviews, cost estimates, and manufacturing drawings.
• Import and work with customer CAD files, including SolidWorks, IGES, STEP, CATIA, and AutoCAD formats.
• Perform design calculations and review requirements for additional manufacturing processes such as cutting, taping, and molding.
• Work with engineering and operations teams to understand manufacturing capabilities, processes, and constraints.
• Manage drawings throughout the product development cycle, from initial estimating information through development and production-ready drawings.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, design reviews, and Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
• Create PDF drawings and maintain drawing documentation within the manufacturing system.
• Assist with basic gauge design, detailing, and work orders for fabrication.
• Develop SolidWorks macros and design templates to improve engineering efficiency.
• Participate in product development, process engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage multiple engineering tasks and support other projects as assigned.
  
  

What You Need

Non-negotiables

• 3+ years of SolidWorks experience with strong proficiency in 3D mechanical design.
• Strong understanding of datum schemes, fitment, assembly requirements, and part interaction.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn new processes and technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and work during U.S. Eastern Time Zone hours.
  
  

Preferred Skills/expertise

• Associate degree or certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• SolidWorks certification.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of ERP systems; IQMS experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in rubber or plastic profile extrusion or a similar manufacturing environment.
• Experience creating engineering drawings, templates, macros, and manufacturing documentation.
