Role Description
Working within our Design & Engineering teams, youll create some of the world’s most iconic and ground-breaking structures and spaces that transform the world around us, from making journeys easier to opening up public places that bring people together.

Role Accountabilities
- Prepare utility scale solar farm design and optimisation of DC (Direct Current) and MV (Medium Voltage) designs using advanced PV (Photo Voltaic) modelling softwares such as PV Case or Helios 3D.
- Conduct energy yield assessments and performance modelling using software such as PVsyst to evaluate feasibility and optimize designs.
- Oversee the creation of PV layouts using advanced design tools, balancing energy yield with environmental and spatial constraints.
- Prepare engineering deliverables including drawings, design reports, string sizing reports, yield and loss reports.
- Working with the team, prepare complete package for the appropriate project design submission stage.
- Apply engineering knowledge, techniques, tools, and compliance with codes and standards to deliver designs.
- Taking responsibility for the preparation of detailed engineering documentation and leading the engineering effort for project including providing technical and performance oversight for members of the team.
- To manage selected projects, project task/responsibilities as assigned, and/or design processes (or parts of projects) to meet agreed budget, quality and timeframe targets.
- Conduct internal review and quality checks of engineering models, calculations, and other deliverables to ensure compliance with the projects requirements and delivering the fully documented package to meet Client objectives and Arcadis quality system requirements.
- Prepare proposals and team presentations working with the Australian Renewables Power Team.
- Interdisciplinary coordination and collaborating with other disciplines such as structural, civil, electrical, and comms for the most optimised outcome for the project.
- Leading technical issue resolution processes.
- Liaise with other disciplines and ensure all requirements are understood.
- Understanding scope and change in scope when it arises.
- Use software packages as required for the design and delivery.
Qualifications And Experience
- 7 years’ engineering design experience in renewable energy projects with 2 years in PV design.
- 2 years’ experience in working on PVCase or Helios 3D solar design software.
- Experience working with CAD softwares.
- Experienced in yield calculation using tools such as PVSyst.
- Experienced in preparing engineering design packages including design drawings, engineering reports, datasheets, MTO, BOM, Layouts, Schematics and other documents.
- Experience with the codes and standards relevant to solar energy sector.
- Bachelor/ Diploma in electrical engineering or civil engineering from recognized institution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Excellent mathematical skills applied in engineering calculations.
- Organizational skills and proactive approach in project execution.
- Ability to provide innovative solutions to technical problems.
- Ability to lead, with good influencing, motivating and delegating skills.
- Actively continue to develop technical knowledge and new emerging technology through regular CPD (Continuing Professional Development) training.
Highly Regarded Skills
- Cable sizing, earthing system design, and fault studies, using tools like Cymcap, CDEGS, & ETAP.
- 3D modelling skills will be beneficial.
- Familiarity with the Australian solar energy sector.
- Consulting experience for Australian solar or other power projects.
- Professional registration or membership with any leading engineering body such as Engineers Australia.
- Experience in BESS or wind power generation.
- Computational design, design algorithms and automation of data manipulation.
- Using python scripting for automating tasks.
