What Makes This Role Exciting

The Senior Software Engineer works closely with peers, customers and stakeholders globally with minimal supervision to deliver customer requirements to support the smooth utilization of the CloudPay platform across the world. He/she is experienced in software development and will utilize this experience in developing solutions that bring maximum business value to the end customer.

Main Responsibilities

• Analysing requirements, technical design, and implementing into new capabilities within the platform
• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs to support front-end and back-end integration
• Design and develop secure, scalable, and efficient API solutions
• Provide API-related technical support for existing functionalities in production environment
• Uphold code standards and best practices through code reviews, refactoring efforts, peer mentoring and coaching
• Engage in the identification and remediation of issues related to API code / solutions quality, functionality or performance
• Document and review API Specifications to ensure clarity and maintainability
• Manage API lifecycle through deployment, versioning and monitoring
• Participate actively in all aspects of the agile process and ceremonies to deliver usable
  
  

Experience Needed For This Role

Required -

• Collaborative team player who thrives in diverse, cross-functional environments
• At least 3 years hands-on experience on developing RESTful APIs and backend services
• Strong working knowledge in Java 17 and Spring (Boot) framework, with a passion for clean, efficient code
• Demonstrable knowledge with database systems – MySQL, MongoDB, MariaDB
• Strong working experience with the following API tools – Postman, Swagger
• Strong Knowledge on API Security – Oauth2, JWT, IAM and authentication process
• Knowledgeable with development and deployment tools including Maven, Bamboo, Git, JIRA, and Bitbucket
• Skilled in API performance tuning, caching, and load balancing
• Excellent logical thinking, analytical skills, and meticulous attention to detail
• Self-motivated individual who can independently manage, prioritize, and plan their workload effectively
• Adaptable, can thrive under tight deadlines and fast-paced release schedules
  
  

Nice to have -

• Experience with API management platform such as Apigee, API Connect
• Understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven design.
• Proven experience working within Agile development methodologies, embracing flexibility and continuous improvement
• Experienced in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and pair programming practices to enhance code quality
• Background or interest in Payroll, HR, or financial domains
